SANDHILL TEAMS As of Thursday 8th December 2011 the league will break for the Christmas holidays, however the league will not resume until the first week in February. This is due to the full courts been replaced over the winter months. A new surface is been laid, it is supposed to be top quality and used by the American Football teams. The league will resume the first Thursday in February* (weather permitting) Thursday 2nd February 2012.
Teams are wanted for Thursday night at Sandhill View. Teams play from 6-9pm every Thursday night. 36 Teams 3 Divisions of 12.

The Riverside 7-a-side Brand New Season Starts 1st May 2012 and one team is still required to join this league, Games are played on a Sunday 2-5pm, 3 courts at the Pavillion Centre,in Chester-le-street.
One team is also required to join the Thursday 6-aside League, at Sandhill View Centre which has just started April 2011,games are played 6-9pm. Team membes must be 16 years or above. to enter a team ring now (0191 4187204.
Washington 5-a-side Leagues Association is a non-profit voluntary organisation and was set up in October 2003, as a pilot project. It had its own shop front which was situated at 10a Victoria Road, Concord, Washington. However has just moved to 11r Victoria Road. (Call and see us).
We use Football and other projects to engage young people into crime diversionary activities and to take part in educational work shops.

At present,We have over 1,500 members who take part in activities every week.We work in partnership with many organisations such as the Youth inclusion project,Youthservice, Community Police, Youth offending teams, Connexions, Sure Start, On-Track, Jag project, Hendons Young Peoples Project and Herrington Burn YMCA.
We also work with many different agencies National Health Service (NHS), Sexual Health Outreach Team (SHOWT), NECA (drug and alcohol awareness), MESMAC (gay and bisexual issues),Wearside Women-in-need (domestic violence).
We involved with Washington Sports Forum and a member of the Washington Business Forum.
